Did you know that only 29% of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) positions are held by women? Girls receive less formal training in STEM than their male counterparts.
On May 13th 150 Cool Girl participants, their parents and mentors will gather at Georgia Tech University to bridge the technology gap between girls and boys. At A Beautiful Me the girls will receive a day of interactive STEM activities, lessons on puberty & self-esteem, a “tech kit”, and much more.
To make this day a huge success, we need your help. Here are three ways that you can get involved now:
- Agree to facilitate an interactive and engaging STEM lesson for elementary and middle school girls.
- Make a monetary donation which will assist in providing this free conference to 150 Cool Girls.
- Donate items to include in our “Tech Kits”; each girl will receive a kit at the event.
